The annual Sir Garry Sobers Festival of Golf,

which coincides with Heroes’ Day on April

28, will take place from April 27 to 30, 2017

at four of the prestigious golf venues on the

island including Sandy Lane, Apes Hill, Royal

Westmoreland and the Barbados Golf Club.

A new event on the 2017 golf calendar is

the Barbados Open Club Championship

which will take place in October and bring

together top male and female amateur and

club professional golfers to compete for top



The Golden Oldies World Cricket Festival,

geared towards those over the age of 35, will

take place from May 7 to 14, 2017.

The Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools

Cricket Tournament will take place from July

9 to 23, 2017.

International polo tournaments take place

annually at Apes Hill, Lion Castle and the

Barbados Polo Club at Holders, St. James.

Polo season begins in January and runs

through to May each year.

The prestigious Sandy Lane Gold Cup takes

place on the first Saturday in March each

year. There are three racing seasons held

each year at the historic Garrison Savannah

(Jan - Apr., May - Aug., and Oct. - Dec.).

A new and exciting Open Water Festival

takes place annually in November. The

2017 event is scheduled to take place from

November 1 to 5.

water polo

The 4th Annual Barbados Open Invitational

Tournament will take place from August 17

to 21, 2017 at the Barbados Aquatic Centre

in Wildey.
