Welcome to Barbados and our 35th edition of Ins and Outs. Visitors

often express how well they feel both here and after they return home.

Barbadians have valued these health benefits for generations - we have

one of the highest number of centenarians per capita in the world – so

our theme this year is ‘Barbados is Good for You’.

Starting with an article from Sir Henry Fraser, summarising aspects

of everyday life in Barbados that encourage health and happiness, we

use this edition to highlight the leisure and recreational activities geared

towards keeping you balanced in mind, body and soul.

Barbados has an ideal climate and excellent facilities in a wide range

of sports, so you can be as active as you want. Get out and play golf,

go running or swimming, hike or cycle through the countryside, dive or

snorkel, sail, surf, windsurf or SUP, you can even race cars!

Or just enjoy some quality downtime. Bajans are experts in the art

of relaxation. That freedom to choose to do nothing is good for you;

especially when you can ‘do nothing’ stretched out on the beach or

soaking in the sea.

We eat well too. Thanks to the quality of our food, and the diversity

of the restaurants, Barbados is considered the culinary capital of the

Caribbean. You can ‘Eat Local’ or you can savour international standard

fine dining. Check our Good Food - Good Mood restaurant guide for the

best the island has to offer.

While enjoying a break from the hectic pace of modern life, you

have an ideal opportunity to reward yourself with some retail therapy.

Take advantage of the tax-free prices, buy something gorgeous, make

yourself look good and feel even better.

Modern Barbados is built upon the foundation of a rich and fascinating

history, and Dr. Karl Watson provides a Guided Walking Tour of Historic

Bridgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as an interesting

article about the Sephardic Jews of Barbados.

As usual, Ins & Outs showcases the very best that Barbados has to

offer, to help make your stay enjoyable, memorable and good for you!
