The annual Sir Garfield Sobers Golf
Tournament, which coincides with Heroes’
DayonApril 28, will take place fromApril 26 to
29, 2018 at four of the prestigious golf venues
on the island including Sandy Lane, Apes
Hill, Royal Westmoreland and the Barbados
One of the newer events on the 2018
golf calendar is the Barbados Open Club
Championship which is scheduled to take
place in August (dates to be announced).
It will bring together top male and female
amateur and club professional golfers to
compete for top honours.
The Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools
Cricket Tournament will take place from July
8 to 22, 2018.

International polo tournaments take place
annually at Apes Hill Polo Club and the Bar-
bados Polo Club at Holders in St. James.
Polo season begins in January and runs

The prestigious Sandy Lane Gold Cup takes
place on the first Saturday in March each
year. There are three racing seasons held
each year at the historic Garrison Savannah

The exciting Open Water Festival takes
place annually in November. The 2018 event
will take place from November 7 to 11.
The Inaugural Beach Water Polo Masters
Tournament will take place from 4 to 6
May at the beautiful Carlisle Bay. Also on
the Water Polo Calendar in 2018 are the
3rd Annual Darren Eastmond Invitational
Tournament from 12 to 16 July and the 5th
Annual Open Invitational Tournament from
16 to 20 August, both taking place at the
