163 in getting articles was apparent from quite early. The magazine appeared spasmodically, with no issues at all in some years. During 2011, a decision was taken to discontinue Bank Notes in light of the increasing use of the intranet and other media to disseminate news to the staff. 88 Bank Notes covered a wide range of topics in its 24 volumes (45 issues). Special issues came out for the opening of the new building, the deaths of staff members as well as for the Bank’s significant anniversaries. Short stories were a regular feature of the magazine, with Cleotha Stapleton contributing the vast majority of them. During one of the periods when Bank Notes was dormant a smaller and more frequent magazine called small change was published. This lasted off and on from July 1996 to February 2001.
