264 2011 In November, former governor Winston Cox delivered the 26th Adlith Brown Memorial Lecture. Economist Allan Wright was awarded the Ph.D by the UWI, Cave Hill campus. Governor Worrell was elected as Caricom’s representative on the Board of Governors of the Centro de Estudios Monetarios Latinoamericano (CEMLA) for the 2011 to 2013 period. Dr. Kevin Greenidge, director of the Research and Economic Analysis Department, accepted an offer of an appointment as senior economist at the IMF, on a two-year fixed-term assignment. Bank Secretary Elson Gaskin undertook a one-year MBA course in banking and law at Bangor University in North Wales. 2012 On May 2, the Bank celebrated its 40th Anniversary. During a short ceremony in the foyer of the Hall, a commemorative birthday cake was cut jointly by Yvonne Parris and Kirk Beckford, whose birthdays fell on the same date. Maureen Hoyte retired from the Bank as the staff member with the longest period of service to date -38 years and eight months. The cover of the 2012 Annual Report celebrated the national heritage of Barbados by featuring Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison.
