Come February 2020, the lovely ladies at Island Plates will be serving their delicious meals from a new location on Church Street in Speightstown. They’ve refurbished a lovely 100-year- old building where they’ve created a courtyard oasis for their customers to enjoy. Turtle Hatchings at Southern Palms Southern Palms Hotel has a constant stream of turtle hatchings throughout the season with roughly 900 nestings a year. Guests can opt to be alerted whenever a hatching is happening. Manager Brita Pollard says that it can be a life changing experience for guests. 24hr Sea Turtle Hotline: (246) 230-0142 Ainsley’s “Cocktail” Kitchen Barbados is very close to celebrity Chef Ainsley Harriott’s heart so it’s not surprising that Barbados was featured in his popular cooking series, “Ainsley’s Caribbean Kitchen”, nor is it surprising that Cocktail Kitchen’s Chef Damian Leach was also featured! Damian’s modern, innovative menu thoughtfully utilises local ingredients. So what did he cook? Fire- roasted breadfruit with local lobster and salt fish, tobiko and Bajan pepper sauce aioli. Waterside Tapas Enjoy the casual, bubbly atmosphere on the outdoor deck at Tapas. Reservations are not required for seating on the deck, but space is limited and it’s first come–first served. So get there early and savour not only the amazing Tapas dishes, but also an optimal view of the stars, right beside the sea... it doesn’t get much better! Barefoot Private Dining Groups of 8 to 16 can dine in true Japanese style in the Tatami Room of Zen Restaurant at The Crane. Leave your shoes outside, slip under the table, close the sliding doors and you are in your own Zen world.
