Sendall Tunnel A vital thoroughfare connecting the two sides of St George’s, this historic 105m (340 foot) tunnel was completed in 1895. Christ the Deep With arms outstretched and facing the sea, this life-size bronze statue was gifted to the people of Grenada by Costa Steamship Line, in gratitude for their assistance in rescuing passengers when the Bianca C sank in 1961. The wider Grand Anse area is home to many of the island’s hotels, restaurants and shopping centres. But it doesn’t take long for the developed south west coastline to give way to dramatic mountains with easily accessible waterfalls and rainforest trails to explore.
