With a light, white and flaky flesh similar to cod or snapper, the lionfish is packed with Omega 3 oils and other good-for-you nutrients. Lionfish are not just edible – but delectable! If only they didn’t have such a bad reputation. Lionfish are terribly invasive and reproduce at an incredible rate – females produce 30,000-40,000 eggs every 3 to 4 days – that’s over 2 million a year! They eat whatever moves and fits into their mouths, with stomachs that expand to 30 times normal size to accommodate the menu. Our marine environment has become their all-you- can-eat buffet, and boy can they eat! So, if you see it on a menu, try it, if you don’t see it, ask about it. The more we can create a demand for it, the better it will be for our reefs. Romance by the Shore Everyone has their own idea of romance, but who doesn’t love a candlelight dinner on the beach? Sunset Shores now offers just that – romantic dinners on the beach, or on their beachside deck, at a table specially decorated with tropical flowers and candle lights. Gourmet cuisine, butler service, wine or Champagne ... perfect for celebrating a special occasion or if you want to impress someone special!
