Bequia Threadworks is a nonprofit enterprise empowering and training the women of Bequia as artisan seamstresses to advance their economic mobility and create a more sustainable local economy. It’s accomplishing this by offering quality clothing, sewing training, design services and retail opportunities for Bequian citizens. The enterprise is the brainchild of the Grenadines Partnership Fund, a small group of U.S. citizens supporting community initiatives that provide basic needs, education, environmental protection and conservation, and economic development to benefit citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Bequia Threadworks also receives support from the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina. One of the most exciting elements: all Bequia Threadworks profits are reinvested in training programs.
