99 Shopping Duty Free Shopping Hey, great news - Barbados is a duty free shopping destination and on presentation of your departure slip, prices are VAT free as well as duty free which makes the cost of most of the beautiful things featured in Ins and Outs, 30-40% less than those in stores in the UK, USA and Canada. So, go ahead, you’re on holiday - indulge yourself with things that make you feel and look wonderful. You deserve it! Pelican Craft Village There is also a wide variety of local craftwork, much of it created out of the island’s most readily available natural resources such as clay, mahogany, pandanus grass, coconut, palm fronds, bamboo, shells and leather. The Pelican Craft Centre, near the Bridgetown Port, has the largest selection of local craft on the island and you can watch a few of the craftspeople at work. Swan Street - The Local Vibe Running parallel to Broad Street, Swan Street is a pedestrian only street, lined with dozens of small, owner-run shops, odd specialty stores and roadside vendors all selling a vast selection of merchandise at bargain prices. Laurie Dash From wrapping gifts to flower arranging, this special little craft shop is a gem. They have especially good art and cake baking supplies. Bridgetown Duty Free The wonderful Cave Shepherd department store has been renamed Bridgetown Duty Free. It continues to offer a superb department store experience that is unmatched on the island. Broad Street - Fine Jewellery Stores The High Street of Bridgetown. Here you can shop duty free to your heart’s delight in the many high end jewellery stores. Step into luxury at Diamonds International and choose from an extensive collection of non-conflict diamonds, loose precious stones, exquisite jewellery and timepieces. At Diamonds International you can custom create your signature piece of jewellery; simply choose your diamond, select the setting, and their on-site jewellers will have your piece ready to wear before you leave the island! The Royal Shop is the oldest family owned watch and jewellery store on the island. It’s the exclusive retailer of Rolex and Tudor timepieces with an authorised Rolex Service Centre. Co-owner Mrs. Nisha Thani, pictured at right with her husband Hiranand, was awarded the Gold Trident of Excellence, the second highest honour at Barbados Independence Celebrations on the day the nation became a republic in 2021. Also worthy of attention is Milano Diamond Gallery. Their own Unity brand, focuses on ‘Big Look’ diamond jewellery and diamond tennis bracelets of all carat weights. Milano also represents the wonderful Fope jewellery. In addition to fine jewellery and watches, Colombian Emeralds International now has a dedicated Pandora boutique. They have three locations on Broad Street, one of which is in Bridgetown Duty Free.
