Barbados in a Nutshell - 2022 - EBook
103 Beaches 1. Bottom Bay Bottom Bay is a great place for a picnic. There is plenty of space to park on the clifftop and access is down a steep flight of steps. A small operator provides coconuts, cold drinks and rental chairs. Swimming here is only suitable for the strong and experienced. Shade is provided by the cliffs and coconut trees. These trees are not cleaned so be aware of falling leaves and coconuts. There are no public facilities or lifeguards. 2. The Crane This is one of Barbados’ iconic beaches. There is parking and public access at the northern end. The Crane Resort has a nice beach bar selling light lunches, while drinks and coconuts are also sold by a couple of small enterprises on the beach. Chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards are available for rent. The swimming and boogie boarding here is fun but caution is advised. There is an undertow and no lifeguards on duty.
