Barbados in a Nutshell - 2022 - EBook

105 Beaches 5. Thunder Bay This central west coast beach is named after the sound of the waves on the coral reef located at the southern end. The snorkeling is superb but do remember to take a marker buoy with you so that numerous watercraft are well aware of your presence. A couple of small local enterprises serve food and drinks and provide chairs and umbrellas for rent. There are no public facilities and limited parking. 6. Speightstown Beach This once bustling port is coming back to life with trendy seaside restaurants and bars, the Gallery of Caribbean Art and Arlington Museum giving explorers lots to see and do there. A day here can also begin with an early morning walk along the beach going north to Port St. Charles. There is plenty of parking, chairs and umbrellas for rent and choices for refreshments. You can also pick up fresh fish, fruit and veggies here.
