Ins & Outs of Grenada

70  BEACHES INS& Morne Rouge Beach Known locally as BBC beach, Morne Rouge is minutes from Grand Anse Beach by car, but more tranquil. Fewer crowds and gently lapping waves make it perfect for families. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling and the floating obstacle course to keep young ones entertained. Magazine Beach Not far from the airport, this is a stunning stretch of white-sand. At the southern end of the beach you’ll find Aquarium Restaurant, welcoming visitors straight-off the beach for lunch or a cocktail and you can also rent kayaks and snorkel gear. Lance Aux Epines Beach Nestled in picturesque Prickly Bay with a view of moored yachts, is this beautiful, secluded beach, with a mosaic of black and white sand. Stop in at the Sandbar & Grill at Lance Aux Epines Cottages for a delicious lunch or refreshment. While Grenada has much to offer in-land, we know that sun, sand and sea feature high on most people’s vacation agenda. On the island’s west coast, facing the azure Caribbean sea, gentle waves lap the shimmering white-sand shoreline. On the east coast, facing the Atlantic Ocean, beaches are more rugged and wind- swept, but full of character, with headlands and bays offering protection from the mighty waves. Grenada Beaches Grand Anse Beach In 2019 Condé Nast Traveller named it the best beach in the world…. need we say more? With powder-white sand and turquoise waters, Grand Anse is a great spot for swimming, snorkeling, and watersports. Many of the island’s top hotels, restaurants and bars are dotted along the sand. To browse through local crafts check out the Grand Anse Spice and Craft Market. Some great spots for lunch or dinner along the beach are Grenadian Grill at Silversands, Coconut Beach Creole Restaurant, 61 West, Arawakabana at Coyaba Beach Resort, and Oliver’s Restaurant at Spice Island Beach Resort. To arrange scuba diving and other water sports, check out EcoDive, based at Coyaba Beach Resort.
